The John Wornall House Museum will be closed temporarily to the public starting on Monday, June 24, 2013 for a major capital project to make repairs to the foundation, facade, and interior of the house, which has sustained damage due to the two-year drought. The construction to the exterior of the house is slated to begin in early July. The house will be closed to the public from June 24 through at least the end of September 2013, and the executive director of The Wornall/Majors House Museums will update the Brookside Business Association about the exact start date for the construction and the timeline for reopening the John Wornall House.
During this temporary closure at the Wornall House, the Alexander Majors House will remain open for public tours on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m., and you can reach the staff of The Wornall/Majors House Museums during the closure of the Wornall House by calling (816) 444-1858 or emailing director@wornallhouse.org.
