Kansas City’s first outdoor art show of the year (and our favorite) is just around the corner. Make plans now to join us as Brookside celebrates the 33rd annual Brookside Art Annual Friday, May 4th through Sunday, May 6th. Show hours are: Friday, May 4th - 5pm-9pm; Saturday, May 5th -10am-9pm; and Sunday, May 6th - 11am-5pm.
Established in 1985 as a neighborhood festival, the Brookside Art Annual has grown into a great regional event and was recently rated one of the Top 20 Art Shows in the nation by Art Source. Over 180 of the top artists from around the country will be showing their artwork right in the heart of Brookside. The show draws upwards of 70,000 people from all over the metropolitan area to the Brookside shopping district for the three-day event.
Not only do we have great art, we also have great local restaurants offering an array of food and drinks for you to enjoy the show. Brookside’s own Avenues Bistro, Carmen’s Café, Charlie Hooper’s, Cosentino’s Brookside Market/Price Chopper, Michael Forbes Grille and Topsy’s will be offering a variety of food from burgers to calamari. Thirsty? Enjoy a selection of fine wines, craft beers, cocktails, sodas and more.
Have kids and need something to do? The show also features children's activities on Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm. Thank you to ER of Brookside and Cosentino’s for hosting the children’s tent.
Another great way to enjoy the show is to volunteer. Volunteers help direct guests at the information booth, deliver meals to artists, sell show merchandise, and booth sit so artists can have a well-deserved break during the show.
